Day 251- Photodump!

A cranky and tired kiddo tonight coupled with the fact that I had plans to go to a concert with a friend meant that no pics were taken. So, here are some recent ones that haven't yet been shared.

Day 250- Bathtime without Daddy...

It just isn't the same.

So sad (and sideways thanks to Momma's cell phone) without Daddy at bathtime!

I am hungry; I shall eat this little man.

Nora missed Brad at bathtime tonight while he was working at a high school football game. I know she'll be happy to have him back tomorrow!

Day 249- 17 Months Old

Well, hello there beautiful baby little girl with the million dollar smile.

Oh, how I love chasing you around the house and listening to you squeal with delight as you try to get away from me. Even better is when you squeal with delight and then run towards me, wrapping your little arms around my legs in a sweet hug.

And how we love watching you so joyful whenever one of your favorite Sesame Street music videos appears on the computer or Ipad screen. You expecially love the Ipad. I read recently that some people are referring to your generation a the "Touchscreen Generation", and I can easily understand why.

I love listening to your raspy little voice talking on and on about only you and God know what! There are a few things you say clearly, though: Dog, Dada, Mama, Uh oh, Yeah, Yes, What's that? Your favorite word that we have not yet figured out is "Oosh". You usually say it while pointing at something, so my best guess is "Look!" I know you get frustrated sometimes when we don't know what you're oh-so-clearly trying to tell us. I promise it will get easier for all of us soon.

You can point to your head, nose, ears, mouth, belly, and feet, though you sometimes get nose, ears, and mouth mixed up. And you will never do it when you have an audience other than Daddy and me. That's ok. We know how smart you are, even if you don't like to show off in front of others.

You love to hand-feed your dogs, one little kibble at a time. One for Brandy, one for Bailey, one for Copper. You make sure each pup gets a treat. You are so sweet and thoughtful. They especially love when they get a "real" treat from your very own dinner plate, and you're happy to share with them.

You've recently started trying to eat with a fork. Sometimes you shovel an empty fork into your mouth over and over, either nonethewiser or not concerned because using a fork is just that much fun!

You still love reading, and you've recently started "reading" out loud as you peruse the pages of your favorite books. I hope this love of books carries with you throughout your life.

Tomorrow, your Daddy and I celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. We've been together for 10 years in all, and while you've only been with us for 17 short months, we can not possibly imagine our lives without you, our greatest gift, Elinor Catherine.

Day 248- Long Live Taco Night

It's been a while since we've had "Taco Night". Nora is soooo happy we brought it back tonight!

Can I help you with something, Dad?
Tacos 4-ever!

You'd think with the mess she makes, I'll put a bib on the kid.

Also, sitting right next to her, she was kicking my chair while she ate, and I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures of her sweet little piggys.

Day 247- Bein' Big

My big girl ate her big girl lunch (tuna sandwich, strawberries, and milk) at the big girl table.

She was awfully proud of herself!

And then, after we finished eating our lunch, I got the best around-the-legs hug from my big girl.

It doesn't get any better than that.

Day 246- This and That

Every once in a while, my father-in-law insists upon taking new family pictures to be framed in their home. Here is one we got of our little family today. (He got a better version on his camera that will actually be framed.)

After lunch, I tried to get a picture of Nora with her Dede and Grandpa, but all she wanted to do was play with Bella dog!

While Brad was in Weigels picking up a few odds and ends, Nora and I played peek-a-boo over the top of the car seat.

Once we got home, Nora took a nice long afternoon nap. When she woke up, she had a snack, and then she proceeded to hand-feed her dogs THEIR snack.

All-in-all, it's been a low-key weekend so far. Sometimes those are the best kind!

Day 245- Fun with Family

The Wroblewskis are visting from Ohio, which means that Nora had cousins not too far from her age to play with tonight. Somehow, we didn't get any pictures of her with the boys, but she and Adelle had fun checking each other out. Adelle is 11 months old and a little peanut of a thing! She's thisclose to walking, and she is like a little monkey, climbing all over everything. I guess that's what happens when you have 2 older brothers to keep up with.

Adelle and Nora playing with a 30 year old toy cash register.

Intent on something...
Caught red-handed!

Might as well eat it now that it's in my hand, right?
With cousin Brooke- most likely pointing at the dog.

Come on in...

...the water's fine!
